about
it’s tough to throw caleb sherraden in a genre-specific box. he’s created ambient pop hits, instrumental lofi tunes, and plays bass for invent animate, a metalcore band from port neches, tx. he’s a musical jack of all trades and safe to say he’s a master at most of them.
i actually grew up in the same part of town as caleb, so was always somewhat familiar with him through mutual friends, and we had a few run-ins in our later years after gravitating towards the more eclectic, music-centric crowd. we eventually connected in 2018 and decided to put our heads together on some new music he was cooking up.
we released a few songs with him as a solo singer/songwriter, and shortly after he decided he wanted to begin a 2nd project in a slightly different style, writing under the alias, klebby. this new project differed from his earlier works as it was purely instrumental lofi hiphop-inspired beats. both projects were a thrill to be part of, and working with him is a great experience as he’s such a friendly and charismatic guy.

these are all the tracks i worked on with caleb for his klebby. project. each song was pre-produced on his end then brought to my home studio where we added bass, mixed, and mastered them. i’ve included all of them in a single section since they somewhat tell a story of progress through the titles and artworks.
i designed the artwork for “rest.”, the first track in the series. as caleb continued bringing more songs in, all in the same style, i figured it would be a cool idea to take each scene from the artwork and “travel” to a different area in it for the following artwork to show progression.
overall, this project was great to work on and was a nice break from the more involved projects i’d worked on prior. i love the sound caleb created, and enjoyed the challenge of following the story he was telling through the artwork.
